Areas of Expertise: composite and metallic materials, structural methods, prognostics and reliability.
Background: Dr. Andrew Makeev started his tenure at UTA in the rank of associate professor of aerospace engineering in 2011. Prior to joining UTA Dr. Makeev was an assistant professor at Georgia Tech, and a principal engineer for Risk Analysis at Delta Air Lines. Dr. Makeev is an expert in composite and metallic materials, structural methods, prognostics and reliability. He received awards from AIAA, Sigma XI Scientific Research Society, Georgia Tech, and Delta Air Lines; and most recently, the best paper award at the 36th European Rotorcraft Forum, held in Paris, France, in September 2010. Dr. Makeev is the director of the Advanced Materials and Structures Lab (AMSL)
