My area of research is in the field of Algebra, with a focus on semifields, which are formed from finite dimensional vector spaces over finite fields with a multiplication that is designed to be non-associative. Advances in computing power are making it possible to thoroughly study semifields, and it is hoped that they will have many applications in cryptography and coding theory.
My hobby is gaming. I enjoy card games, board games, tabletop role playing games, and, of course, video games. I enjoyed reading before my vision deteriorated, and now I listen to audiobooks whenever I can.
I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, but, when I was eight, my parents divorced and I moved to Houston, TX with my mother. In 2003, I moved to Arlington to be closer to my girlfriend Jackie, and in 2008 we were married and I received my Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington.
