"Real Groups and Hecke Algebras"

Abstract: I will introduce Hecke algebras and discuss some of their applications in representation theory. In particular I will discuss an approach to the study of representations of real Lie groups (joint work with David Nadler, Northwestern U.) using the geometric realization of Hecke algebras.
