Friday (11/11/2005) at 4:00pm in 487 Pickard Hall "On the growth of the Bass series of a Cohen-Macaulay local ring"Abstract: In this talk we will define the Bass series of a finitely generated module over a commutative Noetherian ring, and study the growth of the coefficients of this series. We will also show that if the ring is local and Cohen-Macaulay with a canonical module, then this study is equivalent to that of the growth of the Betti sequence of the canonical module.
