"Constructing isospectral locally symmetric manifolds"
Abstract:
I will dicuss a construction of locally symmetric, isospectral
manifolds which produces a plentiful supply of examples in a wide range of
geometries. The method is based on Sunada's work and the construction is
probabilistic. The end result is the existence of arbitrarily large sets
of pairwise isospectral manifolds and towers of isospectral manifolds over
any locally symmetric manifold of noncompact type.
