Mathematics and Statistics Colloquium
Date/Time/Room:
Friday (10/27/2006) at 2:30pm in 304 Pickard Hall "Life as a Statistician in the Semiconductor Industry"Abstract: In this talk, I'll discuss the types of statistical methods used most often in the semiconductor industry. For each technique discussed, I'll give examples of what assumption violations are common in the type of data typically seen, and how to adjust the methods to compensate for these violations. The specific methods under consideration are statistical process control, design and analysis of industrial experiments, including strip plot and split plot structures, and applications of variance component analysis in measurement systems analysis and statistical process control.
