Dr. Scott Nollet, Associate Professor
"An Introduction to Liaison Theory"Abstract: Liaison theory has had many successes (and some failures) over the last 25 years. I plan to tell the story of these developments, but will spend a good amount of time explaining what a simple link is and how to compute it at the level of commutative algebra. I will then explain the global results in terms of homogeneous ideals and resolutions.
