Mathematics and Statistics Colloquium
Date/Time/Room:
Friday (2/3/2006) at 2:00pm in 304 Pickard Hall "Computing solutions of inverse scattering problems"Abstract: The problem of determining a potential in the Schrödinger equation from knowledge of scattering data is a classical problem in quantum theory, and arises also in a number of other application areas. In this talk I will review some precise statements and results about this problem, and then discuss some more recent progress, with emphasis on numerical methods, especially when bound states are present.
