Assistant Professor
"About An Edge Where Mathematics and Computer Science Meet"Abstract: The present talk aims to demonstrate the importance of mathematics as an incubator of ideas, methods and algorithms for image processing, features extraction and image data base management. To support the above statement the speaker will introduce an active convex hull model, active contour and active concavity models based on the geometric heat differential equation and monotonic vector forces. The three models are employed for automatic objects', voids' and concavities' area calculation. To validate the theoretical concepts a set of experiments are given through the presentation. An application of the convex hull illumination problem to search space partitioning is illustrated at the end of the speech.
