The Department of Mathematics will award several Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowships. These prestigious fellowships, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, will allow students to pursue their doctorate degree in mathematics through a generous stipend (at least $20,000 per calendar year, depending on individual need as determined by the FAFSA application) plus educational expenses to cover tuition and fees. Programs of Study We offer a well-rounded curriculum in a friendly environment. Students are free to choose among various areas of specialty in pure and applied mathematics and supervising professors. See our Graduate Program page for more information. Eligibility Our GAANN fellowships are for U.S. citizens or permanent residents to pursue a Ph.D. degree in our department; the applicants must hold either a B.S. or a M.S. degree. These fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis to outstanding applicants. Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply. In selecting our GAANN fellows we will not discriminate based on gender, race, national origin, color, disability, or age. How to Apply Applicants are asked to submit the GAANN Application Form
directly to the Mathematics Department.
After a
preliminary evaluation by the Department, selected candidates will be
asked to officially apply to the
Graduate School.
