SURGE Program Application
To be eligible for admission into the SURGE program and for the S-STEM scholarship, a student must
- be a United States citizen, national, or permanent resident at the time of application
- demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA application
- be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mathematics at UT Arlington
- be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours) during the semester receiving the scholarship
- have a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale or, if entering as a freshman, a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum ACT score of 26 (or an equivalent SAT score)

A SURGE student must meet the following criteria to maintain the S-STEM scholarship:
- maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8
- continuing as a full-time student at UT Arlington with a major in mathematics
- making satisfactory progress toward a bachelor's degree as specified by the degree plan
- participating in all required SURGE program activities
- completing a program survey/comment form on the SURGE program each year
- continuing to meet the federal financial aid requirements
