Best known as the man who found the wreck of the Titanic, Dr. Robert Ballard has made some of the most startling undersea discoveries in recent years, both natural and man-made. He has led or participated in more than 65 underwater expeditions, some of them involving deep-diving submersibles he has designed; is the pioneer of the JASON Project that allows schoolchildren to virtually explore the oceans; and has authored 16 books. Most recently he discovered the wreck of John F. Kennedy’s PT-109 and visited Biuku Gasa and Eroni Kumana, who saved its crew.
