Mav Express manages over 1000 door access control locations throughout the UTA campuses. These electronic access control readers allow cardholders to enter facilities using their Mav Express card as they would otherwise use a key. Access to parking facilities, residence halls, and many academic facilities are granted automatically based on qualifying criteria. Additional access to individual facilities and labs is provided based on departmental request though a designated authority. A list of access control reader locations is available here.
There are three basic types of access control readers at UTA and all operate similarly. Some locations may require the cardholder to swipe their card and enter a 5 digit PIN. At other locations, authorized cardholders may simply swipe their card for entry. For detailed instructions on using your card at access control readers, please click here.
Departments requesting access privileges for individual cardholders will receive same day service for access requests received by 10:00 a.m. and next day service for those received after 10:00 a.m. Generally all requests for access to on-line systems are processed the same day as the requested.
