Welcome to The University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington) Early Childhood - Grade 4 Program at McLennan Community College (MCC). We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to earn Texas Teacher Certification for Early Childhood - Grade 4 (EC4) with either a BA degree in Child Studies or a BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. We offer a variety of courses ranging from two-way interactive video to onsite instruction, all on or near the MCC campus.

• The degree and teacher certification can be completed in 127 credit hours
• Students begin the UT Arlington program during a Fall semester and work with a cohort of peers while completing the degree and teacher certification in two years.
• All courses are offered on the MCC campus or the campus of a local school district
• Through MCC, students may complete the following 82 credit hours:
  • MCC General Core requirements (47 credit hours)
  • additional degree requirements in math, science and foreign language (18 credit hours)
  • five (5) courses comprising a support system (17 credit hours)
• Through UT Arlington, on or near the MCC campus, students may complete the remaining 45 credit hours for teacher certification in Early Childhood - Grade 4.
