Welcome to the Korean Section in the Department of Modern Languages at The University of Texas at Arlington!

The Korean Program at The University of Texas at Arlington is dedicated to the study of the language, literature, culture, and business environments of Korea. Students have the opportunity to progress toward oral and written linguistic competence in Korean and to study Korean communication within its cultural context. Courses are designed to increase self-expression, cross-cultural understanding, and develop the technical skills necessary to function in an internationalized economic, political, and web-based world.

UT Arlington offers a Minor in Korean and a Certificate in Localization and Translation in Korean.

Course offerings reflect a conscious effort to accommodate the needs of both non-native and heritage speakers, and to provide a comprehensive study of the language within its cultural traditions for greater international understanding. Students interested in international relations and diplomacy, business, Korean culture, language, literature, web localization, and translation will find relevant courses within the offerings.

Students interested in Korean culture should also check out the Korean Culture Association (KCA), which meets regularly to host events in celebration of Korean culture.
