Dr. Alicia Rueda-Acedo published “El estudio del periodismo poniatowskiano desde los Estados Unidos” in Ventana Abierta. 11.38 (2015): 111-118 and “El eros y sus representaciones: del modernismo al posmodernismo” in Verba Hispánica. 22.1 (2014): 163-182.

Senior Lecturer Sok Ju Kim’s article, “Negative polarity items (NPIs) in Heritage Korean: Language maintenance and transfer” will appear in June 2015 in Vol. 19.1 of The Korean Language in America, a journal focused on Korean as second/heritage language acquisition and its pedagogy. His article explores the acquisition of heritage Korean grammar of NPI licensing, focusing on language maintenance, transfer, and age effects.

Dr. Marko Miletich had his article “Women Interpreting Masculinity: Two English Translations of Don Segundo Sombra” published in Perspectives: Studies in Translatology, one of the main peer-reviewed journals in the Translation Studies field. His article examines the only two English translations of Don Segundo Sombra, a novel written by Argentinian Ricardo Güiraldes in 1926. The translators, Harriet de Onís and Patricia Owen Steiner, provide slightly but crucially different interpretations of this early twentieth century manly Argentine tale.
