Dr. Amit Bandyopadhyay Promoted to Professor at Washington State.
Amit Bandyopadhyay received his Ph.D. at UT Arlington in 1995 before joining Rutgers University as a post-doctoral researcher. In 1997, he joined the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department at Washington State University as an assistant professor. He received promotions to associate professor in 2001and professor earlier this year.
Amit’s research interests are the areas of materials processing and characterization, with special emphasis towards structural, piezoelectric and biomaterials. He has published more than 100 technical articles, has edited one book and holds eight U.S. patents.
He met his wife, Susmita Bose, at Rutgers University. She is currently an associate professor in the MME Department at WSU. They have one son, Shohom, who is four.
