Research Synopsis:
Dr. Hao’s research involves the fabrication and applications of novel magnetic nanostructures. This includes:

  • the development of large area simple nanopattern generation tools such as anodic alumina lithography, nanosphere lithography, and self-assembly of polystyrene sphere colloidal crystal
  • the fabrication of magnetic thin films and small structures using sputtering, evaporation and electrodeposition into large area templates generated using simple nanopattern genertation tools
  • the characterization and modeling of the magnetic behavior of the resulting films and nanostructures, and their applications in biomedical devices and  magnetic data storage devices.
