Research Synopsis:
Dr. Priya’s research involves synthesis of ferroelectrics and piezoelectric ceramics, magnetostrictive thin films and magnetoelectric nanocomposites. The objective of the piezoelectric materials research is to investigate the electric field and stress assisted phase transitions. Further, he is working toward the realization of high-energy density materials for energy harvesting.

His research on Galfenol-D thin films is focused on studying the microstructural changes with deposition conditions and its effect on the magnitude of magnetostriction coefficient. He conducts one of the leading studies on magnetoelectric nanocomposites. Currently, his focus is on synthesis and characterization of the exchange coupled hetrostructures.
