The Master of Science in Marketing Research degree program at the University of Texas at Arlington is designed to provide students a comprehensive education in all facets of the marketing research process in order that they may pursue careers as managers in marketing research, marketing planning, product/brand management and related fields.
The MSMR program attracts the best and brightest students from across the country and all over the world. If you would like to learn more about becoming part of this group and gaining the education of a lifetime, please contact the MSMR Program Director. We look forward to hearing from you.
The MSMR faculty are experts in the field of marketing research. Every faculty member has experience as either a principal of a marketing research firm, a consultant in marketing research, and/or a contributor to a leading marketing research journal or text. All faculty members have received doctorate degrees in marketing-related fields.
Students in the program work closely with members of the MSMR Advisory Board, a collection of leaders from the marketing research industry who help guide the program’s design. Students develop close professional and personal relationships with Board members via a mentoring program, round table discussions and luncheons, seminars, electronic discussion groups, MSMR monthly speaker forums, and internships provided by Board members’ companies.
Every graduate student of the MSMR program has found a career in marketing research, with an average starting salary since 2000 of $55,000. Our graduates are currently employed with companies such as ACNielsen, Maritz Research, Verizon, Frito-Lay, M/A/R/C Research, Hallmark.
The Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex – the ninth largest in the United States, with over 5.4 million people – offers MSMR students a wide variety of cultural, recreational and career opportunities. The area is home to numerous professional and community theaters, chamber and symphony orchestras, ballet companies, world class museums and art galleries. In addition to the many nearby lakes and state parks, Dallas hosts numerous sporting events and is home to several major league sports teams. Over 10,000 business headquarters (including seven Fortune 500 companies) are located in the area, and it was recently rated by Money and Newsweek magazines as one of the best places to live in the United States. A July 1999 study of 315 U.S. metropolitan areas by the Milken Institute found the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex second only to San Jose, California, in the size and importance of its high-tech economy. The study went on to say tech-focused areas, “tech-poles”, will continue to enjoy faster economic growth and therefore vast opportunities in the next decade.
