Vice President, Chief Research Officer
As Chief Research Officer, Jim is responsible for developing and advancing Maritz Research’s technical point of view. He ensures that our methods are sound, follow the generally accepted practices of our industry, and are conducted in compliance with the professional standards of organizations like the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (CASRO) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR). As a part of this role, Jim chairs our Research Leadership Council—a group of the company’s most senior researchers—and is responsible for our Marketing Science Department and our Product Planning and Development group.

Prior to that, he spent four years at Maritz’ European headquarters in Marlow, England, where he built and managed Maritz Research-Europe, a group specializing in conducting customer satisfaction research for Maritz’ European clients.
Jim joined Maritz Research in 1985 as Director of Research Design and Analysis for the Automotive Research Group. He also served as Director of the Maritz General Motors (GM) Customer Satisfaction Center, leading a group of approximately 50 full-time researchers in customer satisfaction measurement and deployment for GM and its divisions around the world.
Prior to joining Maritz, Jim worked for Chilton Research Services. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in psychology from St. Louis University and Marquette University in Wisconsin, respectively, and a Ph.D. in applied research from Hofstra University in New York.
