UT Arlington Diversity Week - It's a Maverick World!
SATURday, Friday, February 27 – Saturday, March 5, 2016
Founded in spring 2008, our annual Diversity Week was established by Multicultural Affairs as a campus wide celebration of the multiple cultures that make up our Maverick community. We were thrilled in 2010 to join forces with the Office for Students with Disabilities to combine Disability Week and Diversity Week into one annual program. Featured events educate participants on issues regarding disability, race, sexual orientation, gender and religious diversity.
MAVfest is the annual diversity festival featuring cultural booths, games, refreshments, and music. New this year, MAVfest will be held in conjunction with the Global Grounds International Coffee Hour hosted by the Office of International Education. Join us for MAVfest on Thursday, March 3rd from 4 – 5:30 p.m. In the UC Palo Duro Lounge!
Past participants have included the Muslim Student Association, African Student Organization, Latin American Student Organization, Student Congress, Filipino Student Association, Fine Arts Society of India, UTA Dance Ensemble, Women in Leadership, LEAD, AMAS, Gay Straight Alliance, Safe Zone, UTA Volunteers, Black Student Association, NAACP, Student Congress, Native American Student Association, and the Office of International Education.
