Women’s History Month
March
Women’s History Month is a chance to acknowledge and show our appreciation for the significant contributions that female leaders, scholars, family members and researchers have played in our society. The Multicultural Mavericks invites the entire campus community to learn about women who blazed new trails in history while recognizing outstanding women who continue to make an impact today. Featured events include game night at Maverick Women’s Basketball, service project, Women’s Studies speakers,Women in Leadershipprogram and the 2nd Annual Women of Excellence Awards!
Plus, mark your calendars for the first week of Marchfor Diversity Lecture Series and our featured guest speaker Dr. Lani Guinier, renowned Civil Rights Attorney, author of Lift Every Voice, and the First Tenured Black Women at Harvard Law School.
Students interested in helping plan Women’s History Month are encouraged to join the Multicultural Mavericksplanning committee that beginsmeetingin November 2008.
