Diversity Week
Celebrating the Human Spirit

Held during the first week in March, our annual Diversity Week is a campus wide celebration of the multiple cultures that make up our Maverick community.  Multicultural Affairs coordinates a series of events in collaboration with organizations and departments from across the campus.

Co-sponsors include but are not limited to Office for Students with Disabilities, Diversity Lecture Series, Women’s History Month, and student organizations.  Featured events educate participants on issues regarding disability, race, sexual orientation, gender and religious diversity.  The spring Diversity Lecture Series is a flagship event of the week.

  Goals:

  • Provide an educational learning opportunity that emphasizes multiple facets of diversity
  • Educate the campus community on the different cultures found on campus
  • Cultivate common ground amongst individuals by providing venues for cross cultural learning
