Dropping A Course YOU MUST HAVE A FACULTY SIGNATURE IF YOU WISH TO DROP A MUSIC CLASS. FORMS TO DROP A MUSIC COURSE ARE AVAILABLE IN THE MUSIC OFFICE OR ROOM 107.


I Need to Contact a Music Professor--WHAT DO I DO? Check the directory in the music lobby for the room number, then check the office door for office hours, or find their contact information online.

GRADE REPLACEMENT POLICY

Effective immediately, the Registrar's Office will accept requests to replace "D" and "F" grades after Census Day. The Registrar's Office will not automatically replace a student's D or F with the new grade. The student must file a written request using the proper form with the Office of the Registrar in order to complete this transaction. All other aspects of the existing policy, such as the credit hour limit and the limit on attempts remain in effect.

GRADE REPLACEMENT POLICY
  • - APPLIES ONLY TO CLASSES TAKEN AT UTA
  • - Upon receiving a grade of D or F in a course, a student may retake the course ONE ADDITIONAL TIME
  • - The second grade earned, not necessarily the higher, will be used in calculating the grade point average (GPA)
  • - This policy applies only to the second time a course is attempted
  • - Both grades received will be shown on the student's transcript
  • - This policy will apply to a maximum of TEN credit hours at UTA
All withdrawals AFTER the initial grade are considered as attempts. This policy will not be applicable to graduate students/graduate courses. Individual colleges and schools may limit this policy.
Policy is NOT APPLICABLE to: Nursing Classes, pass/fail classes, EXSA 01, Transfer Credits, Developmental Classes or any course that may be repeated for credit.
GO TO THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE IN DAVIS HALL TO FILE FOR GRADE REPLACEMENTS.


Notice for Music Education Students:
Remember that everyone who wishes to enter the School of Education must take the THEA test, Regardless whether you were exempt when entering uta. The minimum requirements are Reading=270, Writing = 220,Math = 230 plus a 2.75 GPA (overall or for last 60 hours, whichever is highest)


Still Having Trouble Getting Into A Practice Room?
Come to the Music Office and give us your name and Student ID Number.

YOUR MAV CARD MUST BE ACTIVATED TO USE THE PRACTICE ROOMS. Only active music students, or students required by their music class, may have access.


REMINDERS:
Please Continue To Check Your Music Major Mailbox On A Regular Basis.

Keep a Paper Trail ...Hold on to all paper-work (receipts, etc.) that you receive from UTA offices. These may include add/drops, bursar payments, paid library/police fines, etc. you just may need proof of receipt before you graduate!


Really Important NEWS:
Floating 45!
Resident undergraduate students who began college in fall 1999 or later and do not meet certain exemptions (below) will be charged the out-of-state tuition rate if they accumulate 45 or more hours beyond the number of hours required for completion of their degree. For example, a student who is enrolled in a program that requires 128 credit hours would be charged non-resident tuition if s/he is still working toward his/her first bachelor's degree after accumulating 173 (128 + 45) qualifying hours. Qualifying hours include w, d, and f grades from all state-supported institutions; thus, even though w, d, and f courses taken at other state-supported institutions do not transfer to uta, they are counted toward the floating 45 limit.
