Jing Ling-Tam, Professor of Music, is a Professor of Vocal Studies. As one of America’s most sought after choral conductors, she has garnered international recognition in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. A compelling musician, Prof. Ling-Tam has conducted All-State and Honor Choirs throughout the United States. Her appearances as clinician at the American Choral Directors Association’s national and regional conventions have captivated educators and conductors with her inventive, humorous and highly creative approaches to choral and conducting techniques.
A native of Taiwan, she holds advanced degrees in Piano Performance and Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory and the University of North Texas. Professor Ling-Tam is the Artistic Director/Conductor of the American Chamber Choir, and she has served as Associate Conductor/Chorus Master/Principal Coach Pianist with the Fort Worth Opera Association for 16 seasons. Other conducting appointments include the American Institute of Musical Studies, (Graz, Austria) and the Arlington Choral Society, (Arlington, Texas).
Some of Professor Ling-Tam’s recent performances include the 2002 AIMS Festival Chorus (The Netherlands), the 2002 Singapore Youth Festival Choir, the 2000 World Chinese Church Music Association Conference Choir (Malaysia), the l999 Hong Kong Summer Youth Festival Choir, and the 1999 American Choral Directors National High School Honor Choir (Chicago). Her work as clinician has brought her to the IFCM Asia Pacific Choral Symposium (Singapore, 2001) and the Chorleitergang (Graz, Austria, 2001). A choral series in her name is published by Alliance Music of Houston, Texas. |
