BRIAN MULHOLLAND is a Lecturer of Jazz History at UT-Arlington. From 2005 to 2006, he toured with jazz trumpet player Maynard Ferguson. During his tenure with the band, Mulholland’s debut album, Deco, was featured in the “Maynard Ferguson Presents” Series. Other recorded performance highlights include Ferguson’s final studio album, The One and Only (2007), and the Maynard Ferguson Tribute memorial concert DVD (2007).

Mr. Mulholland has performed at conferences as a member of the International Association of Jazz Educators and the International Society of Bassists. In 2000, he toured England and France performing Duke Ellington’s Sacred Services with the University of South Carolina Left Bank Big Band. Additionally, his transcription work was requested from Hudson Music for the Victor Wooten: Bass Day ’98 DVD.

He holds degrees from the University of South Carolina (B.M., magna cum laude) and the University of North Texas (M.M.) in jazz studies.
