Keyboard Facilities
The Music building houses a variety of large and small classrooms, rehearsal areas and practice facilities, a new recording studio and MIDI lab. The building is in close proximity to the Fine Arts branch library which holds music books, scores, sound recordings, and computer assisted instructional equipment. The building is centrally located on campus and is easily accessible from all areas of the University. Departmental practice pianos consist of approximately twenty-five new Boston and Yamaha pianos. Piano teaching studios each contain two Steinway grands. The 400-seat Irons Recital Hall contains two Steinway concert grands, a 7'3" Boston grand and a Casavant pipe organ. The department also has a two-manual French double harpsichord built by Richard Kingston.
