The UTA Opera Workshop, under the direction of Dr. Soo Hong Kim and Dr. Sam Savage, provides interested students an opportunity to receive training and performance experience. Each fall semester, the class produces a scenes program and in the spring semester a full-length opera or musical. In the spring of 2005, the UTA Opera Theatre presented Mozart's The Magic Flute.

In addition to these opportunites, the course will offer master-classes in movement with Phyllis Richmond, a seminar on audition procedures with adjunct vocal coach Martha Gerhart and a special master-class with Darren Keith Woods, the General Director of the Fort Worth Opera. The objective of the course is to provide the student with the skills necessary to pursue the crafts of operatic and musical performance.
