Participation Options

Technique/Repertoire Seminar

  • Class will meet daily to discuss “Back to Basics” for a healthy and effective technique.

  • Students will learn about advanced standard repertoire (concertos, sonatas, suites) and about the great performers of today and yesterday

All- State Seminar

  • Meets daily

  • Texas All-State repertoire: Instructor will offer fingering suggestions and practice strategies in preparation for Texas All-State Auditions.

Private Instruction

  • All students will be assigned to a teacher for private lessons. Some students will be assigned to Master Class lessons with master teachers and may have the opportunity to perform in the final concert. Assignments will be made following the auditions.

General Classes

All Enrolled Students will participate in:

Cello Ensemble
All participants will spend one hour daily in small cello ensembles.  Works will be performed in a concert at the end of camp.

TCA Festival Cello Orchestra
Directed by Drew Johnson and Nathan Keefer.  All participants will play in the cello orchestra.  The cello orchestra will perform on the final concert.

Special Activities

Alexander Technique
AmSAT Certified instructor Phyllis Richmond will present a session on restoration of poise and releasing muscular tension.
