Professor talks about Turkey's role in Mideast
Turkey has come to the forefront of diplomacy and compromise in its ability to act as a bridge between the Muslim and non-Muslim worlds making the country a very real player in regional politics, Brent Sasley, a UT Arlington assistant professor of political science, wrote in a Huffington Postopinion piece.
Professor lands innovation grant
Chengkai Li, a UT Arlington assistant professor in computer science and engineering, received a HP Labs Innovation Research Program award recently, FreshNews.com and many other websites reported. The program creates opportunities for faculty and students at leading colleges, universities and research institutes worldwide to conduct breakthrough collaborative research with HP. Awards provide cash support typically between $50,000 and $75,000. Li's work was one of 62 chosen out of 626 submissions. Li's study centers on improving search engine capabilities.
