College Park Center to open Wednesday

The University of Texas at Arlington has played basketball on center stage for more than 46 years, according to an Associated Press story published on the CBS NewsThe Washington Post and The Score websites. The actual stage has played host for the University's basketball and volleyball teams. They are leaving the drama behind and moving to the other side of campus into the 7,000-seat College Park Center. The new $78 million facility — with spacious locker rooms for each team, a state-of-the-art video room with plush leather seats and two practice courts — opens Wednesday night with a men's and women's doubleheader against UTSA.

Biomask results could lead to better healing

UT Arlington engineers are developing a Biomask that will allow better healing for serious facial burns, Wired and Forbesreported. Eileen Moss, a electrical engineer at UT Arlington's Automation Robotics and Research Institute, is working with researchers from the Institute of Surgical Research in San Antonio and Northwestern University to perfect the technology.
