Film professor featured at festival

D Magazine featured a filmed online interview with Ya'Ke Smith, a UT Arlington assistant professor of film, about his first feature, Wolf. The film screened at the Dallas International Film Festival this week. Wolf, one of the most talked about movies at the festival, is a film about sex abuse within the church. KRLD and CBS 11 also published a story about Smith's film.

UT Arlington to co-sponsor architecture symposium

The inaugural David Dillon Symposium will be held April 26-27 at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center,The Dallas Morning News reported. Dillon, who died in 2010, wrote for The Dallas Morning News from 1981 to 2006. In a recent story, Dallas Morning News critic Scott Cantrell called him “a singular voice on architecture and urban planning who was widely respected among cultural and political leaders in North Texas and beyond.”
