Earth science professor to head research consortium

Glen Mattioli, a UT Arlington professor of environmental and earth sciences, will spend the next year as program director for geodetic infrastructure at UNAVCO, a National Science Foundation and NASA-funded organization based in Boulder, Colo., The Dallas Morning News reported. A nonprofit, university-governed consortium with more than 100 academic members, UNAVCO is committed to furthering research and education through earth science that deals with measurements and representations of the Earth.

College of Nursing earns re-accreditation

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education has awarded a 10-year re-accreditation to The University of Texas at Arlington’s bachelor of science in nursing and master of science in nursing degree programs, The Dallas Morning News reported. The College of Nursing’s Doctorate of Nursing Practice program also has received a five-year accreditation: the longest available because it is the first time the program was evaluated.
