The Dallas Morning News features UT Arlington hypersonic propulsion research team
Two assistant professors in UT Arlington’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Luca Maddalena and Luca Massa, are the sole recipients of NASA’s National Research Award this year, The Dallas Morning News reported. The duo outpaced some of the brightest minds at the country’s most renowned research universities and institutions, including MIT, Stanford and the California Institute of Technology. Allotted over three years, the $640,000 award will be used to study hypersonic speed, or speeds exceeding 3,500 mph.
Fort Worth Star-Telegram highlights State Bar honor named for UT Arlington dean
Michael Moore, University of Texas at Arlington dean of undergraduate studies and a senior vice provost, has been named the first recipient of an award created in his honor by the State Bar of Texas, the Fort Worth Business Press’ People column reported. The Michael K. Moore Award for Research and Writing in the Area of Indigent Defense will be presented July 23 in San Antonio at the State Bar of Texas’ annual Advanced Criminal Law Course.
