Engineering and physics professors awarded $300,000 grant

UT Arlington researchers have been awarded a $300,000 National Science Foundation grant to study a new model for how motor proteins behave in the body, Nanowerk News reported. Alan Bowling, an assistant professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, is the lead investigator. He is teaming with Samarendra Mohanty, a UT Arlington assistant professor of physics, and Subhrangsu Mandal, on the project.

Campus is tops for transfers

UT Arlington is one of the top 10 colleges with the most transfer students, The Huffington Post reported citing U.S. News & World Report statistics. Texas, California and Florida dominated the top 10 list.
