Television stations film students moving into College Park

Move-in day for some UT Arlington students was brand new this semester, CBS 11WFAA and KDFW Fox 4 reported. Those students moved into the new College Park District, a 20-acre mixed-use development on the eastern edge of the campus. The district includes a residence hall, loft apartments, a 7,000-seat events center, restaurants, retail space, the Dan Dipert Student Welcome Center and parking garages. TheWFAA Channel 8KDFW Fox 4 and KRLD 1080 websites also reported the event. “We welcome and love our commuter students, but now we’ve got 6,000 or 7,000 students who either live o! n campus or right on the edge of campus," President James D. Spaniolo said. "It’s like adding a campus, another campus to the university."

Spaniolo touts Money Management Center

University of Texas at Arlington President James Spaniolo wrote a Dallas Morning News op-ed piece about the loan debt that students are accumulating. He said UT Arlington is starting a Student Money Management Center this year.
