Political science chair interprets GOP message to women
Raycom News Network reported about the powerful lineup of women speakers at the Republican National Convention. The story quoted Rebecca Deen, associate professor and chair of the UT Arlington Political Science Department. She said the large strategy is aimed at creating broad-based appeal among women voters in hopes of drawing them to the polls in November. "What they're trying to do with this constellation of speakers is, it's the buffet approach," Deen said. "There's something there for everyone. It also sends the message the Republican Party is a big tent, it's inclusive of women of all different stripes." The report ran on the websites of Fox 5 in Las Vegas, WLOX 13 in Biloxi, Miss., Fox 12 in Beaverton, Ore., and a host of others.
