Defending the First Amendment
Bart Weiss, UT Arlington associate professor of film and director of the Dallas Video Festival, was quoted in a KRLD 1080 AM story about YouTube blocking the trailer for the anti-Islamic film the “The Innocence of Muslims” in Bangladesh and Pakistan. “People who believe in the freedom of speech, the way I do, are always in the position of defending the worst case scenarios. You can’t say, ‘I believe in freedom of speech’ and think that applies only to nice people saying nice things,” Weiss said.
