Examining a close race
Election Day coverage on KTVT/CBS 11 featured an interview with Victoria Farrar-Myers, UT Arlington political science professor, who talked about the close presidential race. She said: “Voter turnout is everything, everything. It’s key to what both campaigns have been working for throughout this last month and throughout this last day frankly, making those last minute appearances to hope to get every vote they possibly can.” Farrar-Myers was also scheduled to appear on CBS 11 this morning.
Another tight race
UT Arlington political science professor Tom Marshall was quoted in a Fort Worth Star-Telegram story about the race between Democrat state Sen. Wendy Davis and Republican Mark Shelton for state Senate District 10. Davis defeated Shelton in what had become the state's nastiest and most expensive legislative race this year. "This isn't just a local Senate race," said Marshall. "It's the only Senate race up in Texas … It's a big enchilada."
Sharing faith
The Baptist Student Ministry at UT Arlington was featured in a story from The Baptist Standard about Engage 24. During the recent 24-hour period, college students connected to Baptist Collegiate Ministries around the nation and Canada made an effort intentionally to engage their campus with the gospel.
