Scientists say massive solar storm a possibility
FOX News.com interviewed UT Arlington physics professor Ramon Lopez about sun eruptions. Some experts say a massive solar storm is coming like the one that knocked out radio communications across the U.S. in 1958, but this time, the devastation could total as much $2 trillion. Lopez, who develops space weather models for NASA, said that science is still figuring out how to accurately measure and track the impact of these “storms from the sun.”
Wheelchair basketball sports club for women comes closer to reality
KXAS/NBC 5 interviewed Doug Garner, coach of the UT Arlington men’s wheelchair basketball team, about efforts to begin a women’s wheelchair basketball sports club. There are only four colleges in the country with women’s wheelchair basketball.
