New weather radar system quicker, more accurate
WFAA Channel 8 reported about the new Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere system that pinpoints severe weather more quickly and accurately than current systems. The CASA weather system sits atop Carlisle Hall. It is the first of a dozen radar systems to be installed in North Texas during the next few years. WFAA also posted a story about the high-tech weather system on its website. KVUE 24in Austin aired a similar story.
Sports economics assistant professor says Darvish tweets could yield All-Star berth
Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish collected 104,000 tweets after his near perfect game in Houston this week, WFAA Channel 8 reported. That translates to more than 203 million people being exposed to the pitching sensation. Josh Price, UT Arlington assistant professor of economics, said this is a way to get the public to realize what a great pitcher Darvish is. WFAA also published a story about the phenomena on itswebsite.
