Physics assistant professor addresses tools' power

A new tool being developed by a UT Arlington assistant professor of physics could help scientists map and track the interactions between neurons inside different areas of the brain, Interesting TechNanowerkse! Samarendra Mohanty, the UT Arlington assistant physics professor, recently published a paper on the development of a fiber-optic, two-photon, optogenetic stimulator and its use on human cells in a laboratory.

PhD student wins TECH award

A UT Arlington doctoral candidate's business, Applied Regenerative Technologies, won a TECH Fort Worth award, the Fort Worth Business reported. Ben Johnston is heading up the biotech company which focuses on UT Arlington bioengineer Mario Romero-Ortega's research on restoring nerve function after trauma and tumor resection or neurological disease.
