KERA features discovery of English professor, grad student

UT Arlington English Professor Cedrick May and one of his graduate students, Julie McCown, discovered a never-before published, handwritten poem by Jupiter Hammon, an 18th century slave from Long Island, N.Y., who many scholars consider one of the founders of early African-American literature, KERA Radio reported in an extended story.
