Financial aid loan rates double

Fox 4 reported on the doubling interest rate on federal student loans that goes into effect today. Fox 4 interviewed Karen Krause, UT Arlington's executive director of financial aid, and two UT Arlington students, Julian Askew and Ricardo Garza.

Hanson Robotics partnering with UT Arlington
|
David Hanson of Hanson Robotics mentioned technology partner UT Arlington on Charlie Rose's television show, Bloomberg TV reported. The UT Arlington mention comes at about the 15:40 mark. UT Arlington works with Hanson, the University of North Texas Health Science Center and the Dallas Autism Center to help children with autism. The talk on Rose's show focused on many aspects of the 2045 Initiative, an effort aimed at advancing robotics and avatar use.

Editorial says universities keeping pace with area growth

It's a good sign that area universities, including UT Arlington, are keeping pace with the growth in Tarrant County, a Fort Worth Star-Telegram editorial said. Colleges and universities are part of the lifeblood of communities, bringing much more than their educational programming and academic credibility. They also contribute to an area’s cultural needs and its economy, the editorial added. UT Arlington hit another record enrollment this spring, at 33,806. |
