ARLINGTON - UTA Volunteers at The University of Texas at Arlington is sponsoring its third annual Locks of Love hair donation drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in the Palo Duro Lounge of the E.H. Hereford University Center, 300 W. First St.
Members of the University and surrounding community will get free haircuts in order to donate their hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under the age of 18 with medical hair loss. Participants can donate as little as six inches of hair to make hairpieces for the children. It’s requested that donors make sure their hair is clean and dry, and bundled in a ponytail or braid.
Hair will be cut by volunteers from the Mylinda Ray Salon, Image Expo Salon, Trade Secret and Norwood & Company Hairdressing—all from Arlington.
UTA Volunteers is a student group that plans and implements volunteer and community service programs for UT Arlington and the surrounding community.
