ARLINGTON - After helping launch
the campus’ highly successful OneBook program, English Professor Laurie
Porter is stepping down as co-chair. Dr. Porter is retiring at the end
of the first summer session and Dr. Chris Conway of the Department of
Modern Languages will be the new co-chair.“Dr.
Porter was an outstanding choice to help launch a program like this
given her experience and love of literature and her dedication to
excellence,” said Dr. Dawn Remmers, who is the director of University Advising, Student Success & Testing Services and OneBook co-chair. “However,
I feel that Dr. Conway will be able to build upon what she has started
and take the program to the next level. I am excited about the
