ARLINGTON - The spring "Adventures in Antiquity" symposium is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in the sixth floor parlor of The University of Texas at Arlington Central Library, 702 Planetarium Place.

The featured speaker is Dr. Joel Christensen, assistant professor of classics at the University of Texas at San Antonio, who will present a talk entitled, "Listening Between the Lines:  Trojan Politics and the Assemblies of Iliad 7." The winner of the Douglas Carvey Prize for best student essay in Classical Studies will be announced at the symposium.

The event, which includes refreshments after Dr. Christensen's talk, is free and open to the public.
