ARLINGTON - The Fifth Annual University of Texas at Arlington Jazz Alumni Concert, a scholarship fund-raising event for jazz program students, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in Irons Recital Hall at the Fine Arts Building, 700 Greek Row Drive. In the past three years, this event has raised more than $15,000 in support of scholarships.

Professor Emeritus Bill Snodgrass will conduct a big band composed of alumni. The concert will feature alumnus Ken Edwards, UT Arlington adjunct trumpet professor, who has performed with renowned trumpeter Maynard Ferguson and appears on the last recording Ferguson produced. The UT Arlington Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Tim Ishii, also will perform.

Admission charge is a donation in any amount to the UT Arlington Jazz program. A reception will follow the concert. Contact Ishii at 817-272-1205 for more information.
