ARLINGTON - Marshall Brain, the founder, will speak on “Your Spare Time is Your Most Important Time, and Other Thoughts on Making a Million Dollars” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Nedderman Hall Room 100, 416 S. Yates St, on The University of Texas at Arlington campus.

Brain is appearing as part of the College of Engineering Speaker Series. A 5 p.m. reception in Room 601 of Nedderman will precede the lecture. RSVP for the reception and/or the lecture at

Brain started How Stuff Works as a hobby in 1998 and it has grown to one of the top websites in the country. In 2007, Discovery Communications purchased for $250 million. Brain now is the host of the National Geographic channel’s “Factory Floor.”

Brain says the average human being has approximately eight hours of spare time available each day - roughly a third of a person’s life. He asks: How are you using your spare time? What if you were told that by using that time intelligently, you could radically increase your odds of making a million dollars?
